“ A cute little restaurant in Redondo beach! Was in the area and decided to give this place a try and I'm glad I did. I got the original hainan chicken plate. The chicken is so soft and moist and the two sauces are so flavorful and delicious! Love the addition of cucumbers and cabbage to make it a more balanced plate. The rice was really wet and mushy so I didn't love that but it had a great flavor. I love soup so I love that there's complimentary self serve broth for dine in guests. It's not very thick or flavorful but it's nice complement on a colder night. ”

“ You can never go wrong with Taishi Hainan. Service is fast, efficient and polite and food not only good, it's consistent. It's the kind of place you can go to on a bad day because you know it will never let you down. There isn't a dish from here that wasn't amazing. ”

“ Parking: Small lot, difficult I ordered the fried chicken hainan chicken. It comes with a sweet orange sauce and a sweet mayo. I ordered the family platter and walked .2 miles back to my house. So, I am not sure if they affected the moisture in the chicken. The flavors were there. The rice tasted like it was cooked with chicken and ginger. The fried chicken itself was crispy but a little dry (again, not sure if the walk played a factor in this). The chicken broth was light and was a nice pairing. All in all, i would have it again but next time in store ”

“ Taishi Hainan is a comforting, delectable, cozy restaurant where you'll find well cooked hainan chicken and rice. Located in a little plaza next to another chicken spot, Taishi has hainan chicken, both fried and non-fried, alongside a bit scoop of rice cooked with hainan broth. The chicken was tender, moist, and flavorful. Their sauces are solid too - one with a minor kick and one more ranch-like (they also have a more thai-chili infused sauce and bottles of sriracha as well). Service was great - guy was super helpful and generous with the sauce game. Cool art decorating the walls and a TV playing someone doing a mukbang of Hainan Taishi. Plaza parking available. ”

“ Yummy and good size portion. Fried Hainan was yummy with the orange sauce and the original chicken is good with the darker one. A little too much ginger if you dip the chicken too much since the rice is also ginger garlic. Service was quick but not super friendly. Smaller place but nice to sit. ”

“ Steal, deal, call it what you want. That is what you get with a plate of Taishi's Hainan Chicken. Bang for your buck, you cannot really beat it. Taishi piles on the meat. If you dine in, you also get unlimited bowls of chicken broth. The soup is a bit tame by itself but really nice when you spoon some on your chicken rice. Fried Hainan Chicken Rice Plate - This comes with about a breast and half of cut fried chicken over a bed of cabbage, cucumber slices and chicken rice. There's creamy sauce and a sweet and sour sauce. I just stuck with the traditional sweet and sour sauce. One plate is a lot of food. The golden brown chicken has a very crunchy crust. I used the chicken broth to moisten things up a bit which worked out perfectly. Fried Dumplings - These were deep fried and had a chicken filling. It's a good side for sharing. They came out piping hot with a sweet soy dip. If you're looking for later in the night quick eat, Taishi Hainan Chicken hits the spot, especially since they are open until 11 pm each night. Is it the most true version of hainan chicken I've ever had? Probably not. But it's good enough to scratch my itch and to fill my belly. ”

“ Good place with good portions! I had a lot of leftovers the next day. The hainan chicken is a little dry compared to other places but the sauces really helped to balance it out. The rice that it came with was phenomenal. So much flavor. You can also pour yourself a complimentary bowl of chicken broth! The food came so fast after ordering too which was great because we were super hungry! (: ”

“ I can't believe I only gave Taishi 4-Stars on my initial review. This is one of my favorite places to eat!!! I've got 16 Check-Ins and that doesn't count all the times I have someone pick it up for me LOL My favorite is the fried chicken that comes with two sauces & ginger rice :) This time we ate there so we had the egg rolls and a delicious strawberry lemonade! The service is friendly and quick, the dining room has plenty of seating and funny artwork featuring their chicken mascot LOL The shared parking lot is clean but can get full when all the businesses are open. If you eat in the restaurant, they offer free chicken broth that is very good. Also, they are open until 11pm every night!! Which is pretty late for the South Bay LOL ”

“ I had never tried hainan chicken before coming here but was surprised with how much I loved this. Their sauces were super flavorful and the chicken was SO juicy. The real star of the show for me was the rice. It had a light flavor, but the hint of garlic and ginger was the perfect foundation for the chicken. The soup pushed this meal over the top as one of my new favorite comfort meals. This place was great and I'll definitely be coming here a lot through the winter months! ”

“ Parking: This shop is located in a small plaza on the corner. It can be a bit of a hassle getting into the plaza. Be prepared because the parking lot is tight. Inside; The inside is very nice. Plenty of space to sit and enjoy your meal. The decor was very interesting as well. Original Hainan Chicken Rice: The chicken was tender and they gave a large portion. However, the chicken did not have much flavor to be honest. The entree comes with 2 sauces on the side: house spicy sauce and sesame soy sauce. Besides the sauces it comes with, most of the flavor was in the rice. I know I should have read the menu better but I'm a bit disappointed this entree does not come with green onion sauce. Menu: Their food menu is very limited. There are 3 options to choose how you would like your chicken and a couple of sides. I didn't order myself any drinks but they have a sizable drink menu. Overall: It was a decent place just not the flavor profile I am used to. It was a good first try and the price was decent. Bathroom: Not sure if it was bad timing or if that's how the restroom always is but the light was broken. ”
